Penguin: Competition Entries

I found completing the book covers for penguin very enjoyable as this isn't something I normally do within my design practice. Furthermore as all the book covers were for very different topics it was an interesting design covers for a variety of audiences. During this process I realised I'm more suited to designing for an older audience as I found the children's book cover quite difficult. I feel the final cover appeals more to parents than children due to the colours used and general design. Furthermore I found it more interesting to come up with concepts for the other books as it was easier to identify what the target audience would respond too. I felt the covers submitted represented concepts identified within the book well however think Penguin our more geared towards more illustrative covers rather than those that are more typography based.
