Two Points Barcelona

Visiting Two Points in Barcelona was incredibly inspiring to see how they worked and where they worked which I was surprised by as they had a very small studio which didn't look like much from the inside. Despite this initial impression there studio was bright and stimulating if not small. During our visit they discussed pieces of there work (see figure 1-3) and how they approach a brief. I found this intersting as they made clear the importance of thinking about production at the beginning of a project as this can lead a project based on how limited you are in the area of production due to budget. Further more in relation to design they highlight the importance of having an idea/ concept behind decisions as designing something to be pretty is nice but its not going to have much substance if just make decisions based on whats pretty. Overall this visit further developed my interest in editorial  design which is something i've experimented with over the year. I particularly liked a book they designed (see figure 1) due to use of cover in providing a navigation system within the book as I thought this was an inventive use of space to create a user friendly experience.  In addition Two Points also discussed what its like to work with clients and how that working with smaller companies can often be more exciting as they seem to get more involved in the process but also touched on how hard it can be to get clients to agree to designs due to production costs.
