Who are you talking to?

Within this session we discussed the importance of networking to form creative discussion with interesting  people. This session highlighted the importance of not just getting in touch with graphic designers but anyone who you find interesting in order to expand and learn about new areas that you can incorporate into your practise. This can be achieved numerous ways such as phone, email, snapchat, letter, Facebook etc. The key to networking is finding people your interested in by looking at other creatives work via blogs, presentations, articles as well look to network to inform, expand and educate our own practise. In addition we discussed about when to start networking and the fear involved with instigating a conversation due the fear that they wont respond or just sharing your opinion. However your opinions are just as valid as anyone else's so theres no need to be put off as sharing can be beneficial to both parties involved. Overall I enjoyed this session as it helped with certain preconceptions I had around networking as I always assumed it was something left until the last year of your degree however I've learnt that you can start whenever and to not be afraid and have confidence in your own opinions. A great place to start which was discussed within the session was linked in as its a great way to connected with like minded people due to the use of interests which connected you to other people.
